Ordering repeat prescriptions
You can request a repeat prescription using the options below. The easiest way to request a repeat prescription is Online. Our Online Services can help you request repeat medication at your convenience with automated delivery of your prescription to your preferred pharmacy. It will show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need. Please see the Apps section below to access Online Services.
You may also complete the form via the website to request a repeat prescription.
Please allow 2 working days before collecting your prescription.
Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD)
If you already receive electronic prescriptions for regular or repeat medicines that don’t change, your GP may move you onto Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD).
This convenient service allows your GP to send a batch of repeat prescriptions directly to your chosen pharmacy, so you don’t have to order them from us each time you need a refill.
Your prescriptions are securely stored on the NHS database and will be ready at your pharmacy when it’s time to collect your medication. It’s a reliable, confidential and hassle-free way to manage your regular prescriptions.
Urgent Requests
Although we try to accommodate patients who require an emergency supply of medication at short notice this is not always possible.
It is your responsibility to make sure you submit your medication requests to us in good time. This is particularly important if you need an assessment such as a blood pressure recording or bloods before these can be issued.

Southam Pharmacy, the local chemist makes collections from the Surgery once or twice per day. Please let us know if you would like your prescriptions sent there.
Please discuss with the chemist if you require your medications to be delivered directly to your home. There is a fee for this and it is at the discretion of the pharmacy about whether they are able to offer this service.
What is Pharmacy First?
Pharmacy First is an NHS initiative that makes it easy for you to get healthcare advice and treatment for common conditions through your local pharmacy. No need for a GP appointment or prescription for issues like:

Pharmacy First provides prompt treatment and advice for these common conditions. Pharmacists might offer over-the-counter or prescription medications based on your needs, and all consultations are private. You can also be referred by NHS services like NHS 111 or your GP.

- Minor Ailments: Pharmacists can help with a variety of everyday health issues such as colds, flu, aches, pains, rashes, and cystitis. They can also assist with emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, and needle exchange services. No appointment is needed, and they will refer you to a doctor if necessary.
- Medication Advice: Pharmacists are experts in safely using medicines. If you have questions about your prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs, they can provide guidance. For new long-term medications, the New Medicine Service offers ongoing support. If you take multiple medicines, the Medicines Use Review (MUR) can help ensure you’re using them correctly.
- Repeat Prescriptions: Pharmacists can manage your repeat prescriptions, saving you a visit to the GP if your condition is stable. If any issues arise with your medication, your pharmacist can consult with your GP on your behalf.
- Healthy Living Advice: Pharmacies can support your overall health by offering advice on diet, exercise, and smoking cessation. They provide nicotine replacement therapies and regular check-ins to help you quit smoking and stay healthy.
